Coop
I was invited to join a new collective art blog called Numen Square. It’s purpose is to act as a place for a selective group of artist to post their work and participate in weekly drawing jams with a new topic announced every sunday. The blog just kicked of recently so it’s still a very small group at the moment and there aren’t many illustrations posted yet, but the first batch of work looks very promising. Keep an eye out!
Anyway, I did this piece for last week’s topic: Favorite tv shows. It’s an attempt at portraying a sort of caricature-ish Special agent Dale Cooper from the hit series Twin Peaks. I didn’t get the likeness that well in my opinion, but I guess the Twin Peaks theme is quite obvious.

Got back at this one again. Just some experimental sh*t for the background mural. I kinda like it. Her left leg is bugging the hell out of me though.

The Divine Nibru
I’ve been a member of the concepart.org forums (CA) for a couple of years now. I’m not a very active poster, but I’m a very active lurker and man do I love that place. A lot of it’s members are some of the worlds best contemporary illustrators and concept artists. There’s a wealth of inspiration and information that will really push you to grow as an artist. The community is awesome and every once in a while something very strange, but really awesome will happen ….
A couple of days ago some kid posted a request in the lounge section (the section where people just hang out and talk about whatever). The kid, obviously not familiar with CA and the art community/business, came up with a character he calls Nibru. Nibru is an old guardian angel with a halo above his head, carrying a spear, wears a necklace with the letter M, has his mouth stitched shut etc. This kid asked people to draw some interpretations of his character. He even included a sketch on lined paper he did himself. He couldn’t have known what he started, nor did anyone else probably.
What initially looked like a thread that was going to be laughed at or go down unnoticed in the depths of CA, unexpectedly turned into an epic thread full of sheer awesomeness when renowned artist Wes Burt answered the call and actually took the time to do an awesome interpretation of Nibru. As a joke Wes’s version has a halo in the shape of a donut above his head and it’s drawn on lined paper (eventhough the sketch is clearly digital) to add to the sillyness of it all. Soon after other industry top dogs like El Coro, Whit Brachna, Carl Dobsky, Tristan Elwell and Marko Djurdjevic jumped in on the bandwagon. Versions of Nibru with halo’s in the shape of bagels, truck tires, toilet rolls and life buoys started appearing. Most of them done on lined paper or rather had lined paper photoshopped on top of it. At one point CA member loveandasandwich (best known for her awesome, fresh and cute plush characters) even took the time to stitch together a plush version of Nibru wearing a PJ with an open buttflap. Instant win!
Nibru probably became one of the best viewed threads on CA ever, peaking at over 500 viewers watching at a time. Of course I couldn’t let this pass as this thread already became legendary, so I too did a quick version of Nibru. I emphasised on the fact that he’s supposed to be old. I couldn’t come up with a funny version of the halo though.
check out the epic thread overhere , it’s funny as hell.

I’m not dead
Heya it’s been a while. There’s still not much personal stuff to show for the moment, but here are some pieces I feel are finished. Also another self portrait for fun.
By the way, I have some prints up for sale on www.inprnt.com. Go check ‘em out if you’re interested: http://www.inprnt.com/profile/2108/
