The Victorian Room

I got the idea for this illustration while having a Twin Peaks marathon night. I know, it doesn’t in any way resemble Twin Peaks, except for maybe being quite an odd scene. The scene from Twin Peaks that sparked this idea, was a scene that starts in the waiting room at a veterinarian practice in which agent Cooper expects to find a cleu to the murder of Laura Palmer. This particular scene starts with a shot of the room featuring a white lama. The image of this big lama in a room struck me as really odd and surreal (which I’m sure David Lynch intended). The scene lead to an idea of depicting a white horse in the middle of a victorian style room.

I chose for a victorian setting because I absolutely love the style. I’m in love with antique furniture and curiosities. I kept adding stuff that would fit the scene and at the same time seem kind of odd and dreamy, sometimes impossible. My intention was to create something that will have you look at it for a while and discover all the tiny details.
